Capture data from a business card into your smartphone address book
1. Take a picture
When you launch ABBYY BCR 2.0, the camera in your smartphone is activated.
Direct your camera toward the business card so that the card fits entirely within the frame on the screen of your smartphone.
Press the scroll key and wait until the camera focuses on the object and takes a picture. This will usually take two or three seconds.
ABBYY BCR 2.0 will take a picture and start capturing the data from the business card automatically.
Tip 1. You can also use the camera button on the side of your smartphone to take pictures. The data capture process will take an average of five to ten seconds, depending on the characteristics of your smartphone and the quality of the image.
2. Check the data
Review the captured data to make sure there are no errors and the fields have been identified correctly: Name, Company/Organization, Job title, Tel. (office, mobile), Fax, E-mail, URL, Company address.
Make any necessary changes to the captured data.
Tip 2. To change the type of a field, select "Options" and then select "Change field type".
Tip 3. To add a photo to the contact, select "Options" and then select "Add photo." Now take a picture of your new contact and the photo will be automatically added to the corresponding record in your Contacts list.
3. Save the contact
Once you have reviewed the data, select "Next" and then select "Yes" to confirm.
After the contact is saved, the application will switch back to the camera mode so that you can photograph another business card.
