ABBYY FlexiCapture Studio 1.5
Key Features
Interface
- Comfortable tree-view visualization environment for FlexiLayout creation, editing and testing.
- Moving elements by using drag&drop.
- Highlighting blocks and elements in different colours depending on their type and status (found/not found).
- Blocks and elements can be shown/hidden for the sake of convenience.
- Program windows can be customized and resized for the optimal screen layout.
Technologies
- Unique ABBYY FlexiCapture technology to describe layouts of semi-structured documents.
- ABBYY's award-winning recognition and document analysis technologies used as a background for layout description.
Image Input
- Images in the following formats can be added to a batch: PDF, TIFF, JPEG, PCX, DCX, PNG, and BMP.
Pre-Recognition
- Detecting such objects as text, words, lines, separators, barcodes, and pictures.
- OCR:
- 172 natural languages with Latin, Cyrillic or Greek alphabets;
- multi-language recognition.
- optical barcode recognition:
- 1D (Code 39, Check Code 39, Interleaved 25, Check Interleaved 25, EAN 8, EAN 13, Code 128, IATA 25);
- 2D (PDF 417).
- full and fast pre-recognition modes
- viewing recognized image by types
FlexiLayout Objects
There are two types of FlexiLayouts objects: blocks which contain required data, and elements, objects which help to search for the fields.
-
Types of blocks: text, tables, barcodes, checkmarks, pictures.
-
Types of elements:
-
simple elements (static text, separator, white gap, barcode, character string, text fragment, object collection, table, date, phone, currency);
-
compound elements, i.e. simple elements joined by AND.
FlexiLayout Creation
-
FlexiLayout is created by setting elements properties in comfortable dialogs.
-
Various element properties can be specified depending on the type of element:
-
text to be searched with possible alternatives and numbers of errors;
-
columns, rows, header and footer properties for tables;
-
search constraints with absolute search area coordinates and relative position over other elements;
-
advanced settings by writing code in FlexiCapture language with automated checking its syntax of and displaying error messages.
-
Settings advanced one-to-many relations between elements.
-
Building FlexiLayout at any time of its creation for checking it for errors.
Testing and Tuning FlexiLayout
-
On-the-fly testing and adjusting of FlexiLayout by using a batch of sample images.
-
Formulating a set of hypotheses, i.e. assumptions that the detected objects correspond to the elements:
-
hypotheses are created for the whole set of elements but the not just a single element;
-
if several hypotheses are formulated they are arranged in tree-like structure and ranked by their quality;
-
the best hypothesis are selected and marked;
-
relation between FlexiLayout element and possible hypothesis is visualized;
-
the concept of null hypothesis allows user to continue creation of hypothesis tree in the case some optional elements cannot be found;
-
hypotheses are grouped in clusters and displayed depending on the types of elements and search results (found/not found).
-
Comfortable testing of FlexiLayout matching by using reference layout that can be created:
Exporting FlexiLayouts
Licensing
-
FlexiCapture Studio comes as optional module to ABBYY FormReader family as well as ABBYY FineReader Engine and requires special license that enables both creation and processing of FlexiLayouts.
-
Data capture application (FormReader or FineReader Engine based) that uses FlexiLayouts requires special license that enables processing of FlexiLayouts.
