New features in ABBYY FormReader 6.5 Enterprise Edition
Built upon the powerful functionality of previous versions, FormReader 6.5 Enterprise Edition includes the following both technology and user interface enhancements:
1. Registration Station
Separate Registration Station is designed to automatically monitor and get images from a "hot folder" that is used for unattended input of images.
2. Export data via OLE DB
Captured data can be exported to different data warehouses directly by using OLE DB, the Microsoft's strategic low-level application program interface.
3. Scanning by using ISIS drivers
ISIS drivers support provides possibility to perform scanning by using more than 250 different high-speed scanners that communicate through the industry standard, enterprise-level ISIS interface.
4. Opening images in PDF format
Images in PDF format can be added to a batch.
5. Exporting images in PDF format
Any image from a batch can be exported in PDF format.
6. Remote installation and upgrade of additional stations
Stations can be installed and upgraded remotely from the Server by using Active Directory. Upgrade installation allows keeping previous local settings of the stations.
7. eFormDesigner/eFormFiller module
An eFormDesigner optional module is added. The module is intended for creation and processing electronic forms. eFormDesigner is supplied together with eFormFiller application that is intended for filling forms created with eFormDesigner.
8. Enhanced options of checkmarks
The possibility to assign arbitrary alphabetic-numerical values to each checkmark is added.
9. New ICR languages: Latvian
Latvian handprint recognition language with dictionary is supported.
10. One-page VB Script rules
New type of predefined validation rules allows user to create any rule by using well-known Visual Basic language.
11. Enhanced FlexiLayout Studio module
12. Export module for EMC Documentum content management system
The export module provides seamless integration with Documentum 5.2 and automates the input of documents into the popular content management system. Users of the export module can accelerate their business processes by combining the power of FormReader data capture and Documentum workflow solutions.
13. Export to electronic document formats
If there is a need to archive some forms or their appendices in a repository, in searchable and editable format, you can use eDocuments export option. As a result the full-text OCR will be applied to the documents and they will be saved in some of popular document formats such as PDF, DOC, HTML, and TXT.
