The OCR SDK receives images from various sources: image files of virtually any format, and directly from memory. Image file formats include BMP, DCX, GIF, JBIG2, JPEG, JPEG 2000, PCX, PNG, PDF, TIFF, multi-page TIFF, and PDF. Memory image format include Raw, Bitmap (HBITMAP), DIB.
ABBYY FineReader Engine can receive images from two types of sources: opening from files, and directly from memory.
The OCR SDK supports the majority of image formats, including multi-page TIFF and JPEG 2000 (part1), and works with black-and-white, grayscale and color images. It also opens PDF files by converting them into images with Adobe® PDF Library Technology.
