ABBYY FineReader Engine OCR SDK is a set of DLLs (dynamic link libraries). The Engine’s API conforms to the COM standard and can be easily used in C/C++, Visual Basic, .Net, Delphi, or any other development tools supporting COM components.

With a small effort, the OCR software engine could be adopted for using scripting languages such as VBS, JS, and Perl. There is also a sample showing how to adopt Engine for using in scripting languages.
