Windows 7 Support Information

Works with Windows 7

As a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, ABBYY pays special attention to developing products compatible with the latest Microsoft applications and operating systems including Microsoft ® Windows 7. With the official release of Windows 7, we have conducted extensive testing of our desktop applications to make sure that they work under the operating system. The current versions of ABBYY’s desktop applications were launched much before the final version of Windows 7 was available, so we were not able to complete the testing required to ensure the compatibility at the original time of the product release. For this reason, customers may need to download additional software to update their current version to support Windows 7. These software updates will be provided free of charge to ABBYY registered customers.

The key ABBYY products have carried the Microsoft Windows logos and certifications, and we will remain committed to working with Microsoft closely and will continue our efforts to ensure that ABBYY customers have good experiences when working with our products.

In support to the statement above, ABBYY FineReader 10 and 9.0 (both Professional and Corporate Editions), ABBYY PDF Transformer 3.0, ABBYY FineReader 9.0 Sprint and ABBYY Lingvo x3 (all versions) have already received the «Compatible with Windows 7» qualification and logo from Microsoft. The certification means that the products meet baseline standards of functionality on all PCs running Windows 7 and deliver a reliable experience.

ABBYY will continue to test its products, including data capture solutions and developer toolkits, and will release special updates and patches to ensure compatibility of all its products with Windows 7.
