ABBYY Lingvo Family of Dictionary Applications Now Includes Special Chinese Edition ABBYY has announced ABBYY Lingvo x3 Chinese Edition, a special release of its award-winning dictionary software more >> |
ABBYY Lingvo 12 works with Vista with some minor limitations, including:
Translation by pointing the cursor and by using hot keys Ctrl+C+C:
It doesn’t work in applications running under administrator account (for example, regedit). It doesn’t translate toolbar menu in a range of applications, such as Notepad, WordPad, and Adobe Photoshop. Finally, in all applications, when you translate toolbar menu by putting the cursor on a particular word, the program translates the previous word, not the chosen one.
We specially tested this feature in a wide range of applications and found out the following: Translation by pointing the cursor feature works correctly in such applications as MS Office (WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK, Microsoft Tools 2003), Internet Explorer, Opera, FireFox.
Some shortcomings with graphical interface: for example, buttons display incorrectly when you minimize the window. There are also some errors with default colors.
