Regional Financial Controller (f/m/d)

As the regional financial controller, you will be the first point of contact for local auditors and tax authorities. You will work closely with the Shared Service Center and other finance departments (taxation, treasury, audit), and assist the managing director of the regional office by providing financial advice on certain business tasks. The position currently has no direct subordinates, and is based in our Munich office, with the flexibility to also work from home.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Accounting: Review and provide guidance on revenue recognition and non-routine transactions, regularly analyze changes on local tax and accounting standards, check correctness of tax application in ERP systems, AR management and control over bad debts
  • Monthly closing: review trial balances for prescribed companies on monthly basis, analyze trends, perform necessary checks, etc.
  • Audit: Coordinate and assist local external audits, prepare disclosures/comments upon request, Participate in tax audits from financial side to the necessary extent
  • Compliance: ensure accounting and tax regulatory compliance
  • Financial reporting: analyze and interpret financial information, prepare financial reports on internal and external requests
  • Other reporting: submission of various reports/declarations to tax authorities, local governance, insurance companies, etc.
  • External communications: external auditors, banks, insurance companies, payment systems, regulator; good relationship maintenance with all
  • Treasury: performing back-up payment function (if needed), credit cards administration
  • Business development: provide local financial expertise to different business projects, work in joint teams with legal, sales and marketing departments on different initiatives
  • Other projects and activities as assigned

 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor/Masters in accounting / finance / economics or equivalent degree required
  • One or more professional qualification, such as ACCA / ACA / CPA / CFA required
  • 7+ years of working experience in accounting role expected
  • Good knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP & German GAAP
  • Solid communication and self-organization skills
  • Solid knowledge and experience of financial regulatory, management, and tax reporting
  • Experience with accounting and CRM systems (e.g. Sales Force)
  • Innovative, dependable, driven and a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • German business level proficiency, profound knowledge of English language required as well, Russian or French language would be a plus
