Head of Internal Communications (f/m/d)

Location: London Office or Remote within UK


We are looking for the new Head of Internal Communications to join our global ABBYY family as soon as possible. The role will report into the Chief People Officer and form part of the HR leadership team at ABBYY. In this role, you will be responsible for designing internal communication programs and, together with a global team, executing on those programs as well as measuring effectiveness. As the Head of Internal Communications, you will develop and deliver communications programs that engage our global colleagues and grow awareness of our business activities and successes across entire ABBYY universe. You will play a critical part in further development of all things people at ABBYY and we’re excited to have someone join us on this journey!

Your Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with CPO develop and deliver an internal communication strategy that creates awareness for the changes that are happening across our organization at any given time and drives engagement among our global colleagues
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow engagement with the company internal tools (Workplace) and other company-wide platforms including Teams, Wiki pages and email
  • Develop Workplace as an internal communication platform for both formal and informal communication, nurturing user generated content
  • Oversee the creation, dissemination and maintenance of corporate collateral and platforms (SAP SuccessFactors)
  • Work with the CPO on communications on key People programs for the executive management team and CEO
  • Create vision and deliver internal events such as GMM (Global Management Meeting) and ABBYY Day
  • Partner with People Team colleagues to ensure alignment of communications and support for other People programs
  • Collaborate with colleagues on the internal rollout of major initiatives, in collaboration with local managers and PR team
  • Lead the implementation of internal branding campaigns
  • Review our communication practices making sure those are inclusive of all our employee groups and with consideration of our diverse cultures, backgrounds and personalities
  • Act as an advocate for inclusivity an always looking for opportunities to improve and do better
  • Develop and execute internal communications programs for business units and divisions
  • Global coordination and management of internal events including company-wide town halls
  • Manage a small (3 people) team of communications specialists

Your Ideal Skills and Qualifications:

  • University or equivalent degree preferred
  • 4+ years of internal communications or brand experience working with C-Level
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a proven track record across a variety of audience groups and channels
  • Profound knowledge of English language, additional languages are a plus
  • A strong attention to detail and a mind-set that is proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate
  • The ability to work as a team player who collaborates well with others across a highly matrixed, regionally dispersed and diverse organization
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to adapt quickly and work well under pressure and tight deadlines
  • The ability to keep information confidential
  • A confident and professional manner when dealing with executives, internal clients and stakeholders and to be strong ambassador for the People Team and ABBYY brand
  • Experience in the IT or Software industry is a plus
