Innovation Consultant (f/m/d)

Location: London Office or Remote within UK

We are looking for a passionate Innovation Consultant to join our motivated team of professionals.


The Innovation Consultant will provide innovative and technical direction in support of sales activities. This person is a customer-focused technical professional who provides high-level pre-sales support and guidance to customers and collaborates with Sales Executives from the Business Development team and partners to recommend, develop and evangelize ABBYY technology offerings. The Innovation Consultant acts in a consultative fashion and is looked to as an expert in his/her field by the account team and customers. The Innovation Consultant will be one of the key points of contact for the sales organization regarding innovation at ABBYY. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and strong business sense as well as the ability to clearly communicate and present to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a consultant during the pre/post sales, staged alongside the Business Development teams, to present and demonstrate advanced strategies, evangelize technology advances and demonstrate the art of the possible and out of the box thinking to customers and partners
  • Propose and design innovative solutions which include creative prototypes and proof of concept
  • Promote new and innovative approaches to addressing business challenges and problems
  • Support strategic partners with POC’s and provide best practices
  • Act as an interface between both external and internal customers to create a feedback loop to the Product Innovation teams
  • Work closely with ABBYY engineering on customer requirements and new product direction
  • Set and manage expectations with senior stakeholders and team members
  • Maintain a broad-level of knowledge of industry trends and how ABBYY innovations can play in to this
  • Actively participate in ABBYY and strategic partner/customer organized events and communications by creating content and speaking / presenting
  • Other activities as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent education preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a B2B environment in a Sales Engineer or equivalent role in information technology and software design
  • Ability to think outside of the box and focus on the art of the possible, by processing and distilling information into a new innovative and creative idea or solution
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to a variety of external audiences and senior executives
  • Exceptional written communication: ability to understand and articulate the value proposition and technical advantages of ABBYY products and solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to make and take responsibility for decisions on major technical and commercial issues
  • Experience managing complex projects, strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and execute in a methodical and disciplined manner
  • Technical knowledge of current software protocols and Internet standards, competence with testing, flowcharts, and data mapping tools and procedures
  • Profound knowledge of English language required; Russian, Japanese, Spanish or further languages of benefit
  • Readiness for 20-40% travel and working across different time zones regularly
