We are looking for a People Business Partner to join our global ABBYY family. The role will report into the Chief People Officer and form part of the People leadership team at ABBYY. In this role, you will be responsible for global people strategy and program execution across our Technology organization. As the People Business Partner for the R&D team, you will develop and deliver employee engagement programs and manage the employee lifecycle in a way that is consistent and aligned with our overall People Plan but catered to the needs of our Technology organization – you will partner closely with our Technology teams; that includes our CTO based in the US and the rest of the Tech leadership team based in Hungary, Serbia and Cyprus - and your People Team. You will play a critical part in further development of all things people at ABBYY, and we’re excited to have someone join us on this journey!


  • In partnership with CPO develop and deliver global People plan for the Technology team
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow engagement and drive great employee experience, measuring impact of our programs
  • Partner with People Team colleagues to ensure alignment of communications and support for other people programs
  • Collaborate with colleagues on the internal rollout of major initiatives, driving change across the organization
  • Lead the implementation of new people programs (across the employee lifecycle) in collaboration with COEs and peers as well as business stakeholders
  • Review our existing people practices and look to drive more alignment across the company
  • Act as an advocate for inclusivity and diversity always looking for opportunities to improve and do better
  • Manage a team of People Partners (2) as well as Talent Acquisition team (5+) supporting Technology hiring efforts

Candidate Profile

The following will be vital components of experience for the successful candidate:

  • Commercially orientated, progressive People leadership experience gained in dynamic, multi market company. The individual will have been tested within a smaller organisation and will have worked within a technology sector with a professional, distributed employee base
  • Experience as a People leader within a business unit/team at management team level with a particularly evolved skillset around business partnering, organisation development, engagement, and development. Experience from compensation related matters is also beneficial
  • Experience of balancing strategic and operational delivery
  • Experience of innovating and upgrading People practices, being relentless around the desire to give ABBYY the competitive edge through people strategies
  • This individual will need to have driven change successfully within their organisation(s). This will either be at divisional/team level or more broadly, companywide. This is not a role nor an environment for a maintenance person and the role will require a hands-on approach and desire to manage transformation – it is a role with challenges, for someone who is open to learning and curious, with support of a great team
  • They will need to already have team leadership or management experience in some capacity
