Business Development Manager Compreno (f/m)

As a business development manager, you will be responsible for the sales and business development of the semantic and linguistic ABBYY technologies and products, with a primary focus on expanding the innovative Compreno® product line. At the same time, you will be responsible for developing and designing strategic plans for the sales development of our entire product line - development of new business ideas, analysis of requirements and creation of strategic initiatives, introduction of new product concepts and their transformation into profit factors.


  • Identify and develop new business areas and sales opportunities in the Western Europe region for our Compreno® product line under construction
  • Collection and analysis of customer feedbacks and queries, market analysis, analysis of changes in the industry as well as proactive research in specific areas of interest and survey of potential customers
  • Establishment and management of a pipeline for new business opportunities to increase sales
  • Continuous market observation to identify and analyze branch trends and developments, potential new target groups and important customer requirements, and to convert them into newly determined opportunities and markets
  • Implementation of a regular sales process into new segments using the existing sales team. In this respect, training, concrete inclusion in initial qualifications, participation in the development of toolkits for sales
  • Supervision and management of feasibility studies, which are prepared together with the technical team
  • Participation in the implementation of strategic business plans for identified business areas
  • Regular reporting to the management department at the European headquarters as well as at the global headquarters in Moscow


  • University degree (Bachelor or Master)
  • Several years of experience in selling software products to different target groups (independent software providers (ISVs), system integrators, consultants, etc.)
  • Strong sales skills to proactively initiate potential projects within the target group and be able to demonstrate proven success in developing new customer relationships in a B2B sales environment
  • Excellent sales-related negotiation, presentation and communication skills, with relevant experience in working with decision makers at the highest level and representatives of the management
  • Technical understanding of linguistic technologies and static methods
  • Basic knowledge in computer programming
  • Analytical and strategic thinking
  • Strong competence in priority management
  • Fluency in German and spoken and written English, additional language is a plus
  • Self-motivation, entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and international environment
  • Communication strength at all hierarchical levels as well as interdisciplinary and processor-oriented thinking
  • Willingness to travel
