Junior Product Marketing Manager, FineReader (f/m)

Overall Purpose

The Junior Product Marketing Manager (f/m) is part of global product marketing for the FineReader (desktop applications) product line, responsible for developing requirements, go-to-market strategies, marketing strategies and content. The position will also have communication with international headquarters product teams and other international offices and be responsible for promoting the product strategy both internally and externally.


  • Support in creation and execution of product-related business plans outlining yearly sales and marketing strategies for the products
  • Market research, sizing, trends, and customer needs analysis to determine market opportunities for the product line. Research and understand product usage trends, purchasing requirements, customer segmentation, customer service issues, future feature set requirements, impact of new technologies, etc
  • Product positioning and messaging, identifying and prioritizing key target audiences and buyer personas, and creating appropriate messaging per segment, which demonstrates understanding of customer business needs
  • Sales enablement and marketing document creation. Creating presentations, marketing messages, brochures, e-mail campaigns and other marketing collateral
  • New product launch processes, ranging from product delivery to market and team training on the market and solutions, to creation and delivery of marketing materials and messaging. Ensure successful product delivery to market and ongoing delivery of new product releases
  • Ongoing sales consultation, including participation in customer meetings, feedback on product functionality, participation in tender/RFP processes, supporting presentations and product information
  • Regional marketing strategy and program development. Working together with regional marketing communications teams building plans, content and tactics, which drive business
  • Business analysis. Creating business reports including revenue analysis, marketing campaign success evaluation, customer segmentation, etc

Skills/ Knowledge

  • University degree (“Bachelor’s degree,” Master or equivalent)
  • Dedicated, hands-on experience working in product marketing/product management positions for technology companies including a proven track record in delivering product positioning, delivering new products to market, creating business plans. Writing plans, marketing materials, presentations, etc. are an important part of the role
  • Relevant experience with software and/or other technology products. Experience in and understanding of enterprise software customers, value added resellers and software distribution channels a plus
  • Fluency in English and German languages, with strong writing and communications skills
  • Additional languages a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in financial business modelling and forecasting, also required. Understanding of key marketing metrics and numbers (conversion rates, website visits, etc.) is important
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to deliver programs according to timeline, budget and other requirements. Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to manage working relationships with a variety of target audiences from sales to product development to customers and press- both internal and external
  • Self-motivated spirit, entrepreneurial drive and ability to work in an informal, fast-paced environment and to effectively manage priorities across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Understanding of key marketing concepts and related program execution
