Marketing Events Manager

ABBYY North America is looking for a Marketing Event Manager to join our Demand Generation Team. From our Silicon Valley office in Milpitas, CA the Marketing Event Manager takes the lead on creating, implementing, and executing a comprehensive events program to drive awareness and pipeline for the ABBYY brand. Our ideal candidate is an expert on events, and will provide recommendations on ABBYY’s participation in events such as suggesting topics for speaker slots, booth content, booth design, and booth messaging. The Marketing Event Manager is instrumental in implementing marketing strategies for accelerating growth opportunities through demand creation, lead nurturing, and customer installed based programs. Channels include e-mail, web, online media, social media, microsites, tradeshows/events and print. The role supports ABBYY’s corporate, product, and partner marketing objectives and product revenue plan targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research events based on target industries and verticals, develop the optimal events and programs mix, and secure stakeholders buy-in on events plan.
  • Develop, plan and implement events/conferences aligned with ABBYY’s strategic business and brand objectives
  • Proactively, and in cooperation with internal stakeholders, define event goals and objectives and position ABBYY and its products and solutions accordingly
  • Develop strategies to drive booth traffic, attendee engagement, and event success
  • Collaborate with third party vendors and external event parties to secure event space, sponsorship opportunities, demo equipment, giveaways, creative requirements, support personnel, etc.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams, e.g. Sales, Product Marketing, Corporate Marketing, and Technical staff to identify and execute on exhibit and event needs
  • As needed, support demand generation initiatives such as customer meetings and local seminars with booth property structure, giveaways, etc.
  • Take ownership of event-related internal communication
  • Ensure travel needs are met
  • Work to an established budget and closely track expenses
  • Consistently measure and quantify results, and incorporate learnings into future events
  • Manage the promo program, including the selection, ordering and shipping of giveaways and other promotional items.
  • Possibility of travel

Mandatory Skill Sets and Qualifications

  • Requires a BS/BA degree in Marketing or Event Management, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of marketing experience, preferably in software, high-tech, with emphasis on managing enterprise software products.
  • 3 years’ experience in Event management; IT or Software industry preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate with executive management
  • Flexible, innovative, able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strategic thinker with superb attention to detail
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage inter-departmental and cross functional efforts
  • Strong work ethic and people skills
  • Well versed in event planning best practices preferred
