Senior DevOps Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Our team is growing, and we are looking for talented and driven devops engineering talent with a strength in information security to join our DevOps team. This individual has strong technical skills, ideally with experience navigating the security certification process, and strong customer facing skills, able to both implement and explain architecgture solutions to customers, as well as participate in security requirements gathering.


This is a remote work from home opportuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer our AWS instances, including maintenance, creation of new instances, DB maintenance
  • Monitoring of AWS instances, including real-time notifications and log reviews
  • Responding to customer issues related to system problem which require log access
  • As a part of sales process, participating in security and architectural reviews with prospects
  • Same sale process, completing the security and infrastructure related sections of the prospect’s questionnaires and reviewing them with the prospects
  • Creating, testing, and executing the disaster recovery, security incident response, and other contingency plans
  • Participating in various certifications (SOC 2, ISO, etc.)

Mandatory Skillsets & Qualifications

  • >5 years of professional experience as a DevOps/site reliability engineer (or similar) running 24x7 mission-critical systems
  • Problem solving: ability to analyse and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues
  • Professional commitment to high quality, and a passion for learning new skills
  • Proven success stories of designing and implementing complex cloud architecture solutions
  • Strong technical expertise in cloud solutions security, experience in getting SOC2 Type 1/2 certifications
  • Ability to suggest and defend competitive and innovative technical decisions
  • Strong communication skills, ability to present technical ideas in business-friendly language including meeting with the customers
  • Deploying, automating, maintaining and managing production systems in AWS or any other cloud provider (Azure, Google Cloud) to ensure availability, performance, scalability and security of the production systems
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management and Infrastructure as Code approach (AWS Cloud Formation, Chef, Puppet)
  • Experience with Docker containerization in production environment
  • Experience with CI/CD servers like Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo
  • Experience with HTTP/S load balancers such as Nginx or HAproxy
  • Scripting skills: strong scripting (e.g. Python, PowerShell, Bash) and automation skills
  • Monitoring tools: experience with monitoring and log aggregation tools (e.g. CloudWatch, Zabbix, Grafana, ELK, AppInsight)

Desired Sklls

  • Experience in running large geo-distributed production environments (>2000 nodes/pods)
  • Experience in Networking: understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP)
  • Strong SQL database administration experience (any of the following: MS SQL server, PostgreSQL, etc.) including building complex queries and procedures
  • Programming skills (any of the following: JavaScript, C#, Java, Python, C++) would be a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory: authentication and security
