ABBYY Announces New Branch in Taiwan

ABBYY, a leading provider of document recognition, data capture and linguistic software, today announced the opening of its new office, ABBYY USA Software House, Inc. Taiwan Branch, which officially began operation on Friday, August 8, 2008. Taiwan is now one of the largest computer related manufacturers in the world, and the goal of the ABBYY Taiwan branch will be to reach out and support both local and global business in Taiwan with its software.

This new branch provides us with a major stepping stone for moving forward in the global market within ABBYY USA’s territory, which consists of North America, Central America, Japan and Taiwan.”

 

A wide variety of computer equipment and devices are manufactured in and shipped out of Taiwan on a daily basis, including notebooks, smart phones, cameras and scanners. These complementary technology industries provide a valuable opportunity to deliver ABBYY’s award-winning optical character recognition and data capture solutions, and to provide further support to ABBYY’s current and future OEM customers. With Taiwan’s gross domestic product at $380 billion last year, the opportunities to develop and sell localized versions of ABBYY FineReader, Recognition Server, FlexiCapture and Lingvo  products to local government and education organizations, as well as top companies and tens of thousands of small and medium sized businesses in the region are endless.
