Ricoh discovered ABBYY FineReader OCR Engine to provide full-text indexing capabilities for DocumentMall.
ABBYY OCR SDK Powers Ricoh’s Document Management Solution
ABBYY USA, a leading provider of recognition, data capture and linguistic technologies, announced that its preeminent FineReader™ Engine was selected for use in Ricoh’s award-winning DocumentMall document management system.
DocumentMall, introduced in 2003, provides businesses with a powerful service delivered via the Internet for document management and document sharing. DocumentMall received the prestigious BERTL’s Best Award for Innovation.
Ricoh sought an OCR engine to provide full-text indexing capabilities for DocumentMall. After conducting research through several vendors, Ricoh discovered ABBYY FineReader.
“We chose ABBYY FineReader Engine primarily for its accuracy and continue to be pleased with the results we get from the OCR,” said Wayne Mize, vice president, Netsource Marketing for Ricoh’s Document Solutions and Services Division.
“As a technology provider, it is our aim to help solution providers with a solid, top-notch, and worry-free OCR base,” said Dean Tang, ABBYY USA President and CEO. “ABBYY USA is pleased to associate our award-winning FineReader technology with Ricoh’s own award-winning DocumentMall.”
