ABBYY FlexiCapture Engine 9.0
Optimized performance in multi-threaded server applications
- Load Engine as an out-of-process server into a separate process. This is the most optimal method that automatically eliminates all difficulties related to multi-threading.
- Multi-Core Processing. A pool of processors can be organized to make full use of the computer's CPU power.
- Both 32- and 64-bit support. ABBYY FlexiCapture Engine 9.0 in an out-of-process server mode can be used in 64-bit processes.
- Better stability with full .Net compatibility. ABBYY FlexiCapture Engine 9.0 supports memory management with garbage collector.
Mobile Data Capture Scenario Support
With the release of FlexiCapture Engine 9.0 we are offering our customers to expand their business into emerging Enterprise Mobile Data Capture market. This scenario is based on mobile phone as a new capture device. Modern advanced auto-focus phone cameras combined with ABBYY’s powerful server-based data capture technologies provide developers with unlimited opportunities to create various B2B and B2C mobile data capture applications.

Update to the 9th version of ABBYY’s FlexiCapture Technologies
- Improvements to Core FlexiCapture Technology. With each new version ABBYY consistently improves its core technologies in terms of OCR quality and processing speed. Now FlexiCapture Engine 9.0 shares the same core technology platform with FlexiCapture 9.0 and FineReader Engine 9.0
- New OCR Languages: CJK (Chinese (simplified and traditional), Japanese and Korean) and Vietnamese. Combined with almost two hundreds other languages it delivers unrivaled opportunities for developers with global market products.
- Multi-Level Classifier – a convenient tool to classify documents in the batch and speed up overall processing time.
- Color Filtering - clean up color document images prior to OCR for improved recognition results.
- Redaction - preserving confidential or sensitive data. For each export destination specify different set of fields for redaction.
- Template Protection - protects your Document Definitions (templates) from modification or unauthorized usage by third party. Protects any data capture solution developed with ABBYY FlexiCapture Engine from unauthorized usage with any other third-party Document Definitions.

Deeper Access to FlexiCapture Technology
ABBYY FlexiCapture Engine 9.0 includes a new API section – named FlexiCaptureProcessor - which provides direct access to FlexiCapture technology. This low-level API supplements the existing high-level tools of working within the FlexiCapture projects which were introduced in the previous version.
- Custom Image Source. In FlexiCapture Engine 8.0 the source images can be loaded into the Engine from files only. In the new version, it is also possible to implement your own external image queue (custom image source), which will either return references to files on demand or provide the source images as a stream in memory. Results in increased flexibility, security and performance.
- Access to a remote storage location. By default, string references to templates, images, etc. are interpreted as references to files in the file system. However, it is possible to define a custom Reference Manager which will resolve references either as a path to a file in the local file system or as the binary representation of the requested object in the form of a stream in memory. This approach may be used to organize work with a remote storage location accessed using any protocol.

Improved Developer’s Documentation and Code Samples Library
The quickest way to start using the Engine is to read through the Help file and look at the example code that comes with the product. Now FlexiCapture Engine has a comprehensive set of Code Samples that explain various particular aspect of programming with the FlexiCapture Engine. Each library section contains one or several code snippets escorted by a step-by-step description how to perform the task.
Also FlexiCapture Engine 9.0 introduces new Sample Applications that demonstrate technological advantages of the new product version.
