ABBYY have sponsored a Formscan created white paper detailing the need for accountants to upgrade and automate their invoice processing. Chris Haden, author and managing director at Formscan, and an ABBYY partner, will be at Accountex exhibition and conference on May 16 to present the key findings.

Speaking at a keynote session at Accountex, Haden is expected to talk about the benefits and business improvements organisations can expect to achieve using Automated Invoice Processing. According to a recent end user survey conducted by ABBYY, 65 per cent and 67.5 per cent of accounting professionals reported financial and operational benefits respectively with the help of Automated Invoice Processing solutions.

Haden comments, “Managing and maintaining accounts and invoice processing is essential in order for businesses of all sizes to remain sustainable. Using Automated Invoice Processing, accountants can ensure documents are intelligently recognised and classified by type, the relevant data is automatically extracted and the information fed onto a pre-defined approval workflow or backend system. By automating time- and labour-consuming manual tasks organisations can improve operational efficiency, drive down costs and increase visibility.”

Accountex is the UK's only national exhibition and conference for accountants and finance directors working in practice, business and the public sector. ABBYY and Formscan will be exhibiting at Stand A650 in the London ExCeL Centre on May 15-16.

Accountants and finance directors will have the opportunity to meet with ABBYY and Formscan to discuss their Automated Invoice Processing requirements, and learn how they can stay one step ahead in a growing and increasingly paper-logged industry and keep up with a surge in UK employment.
