ABBYY USA and Global Imaging Systems Announce New Strategic Distribution Relationship
ABBYY®, a leading provider of document recognition, data capture, linguistic technologies and professional services, and Global Imaging Systems (GIS), a leading provider of business technology solutions, today announced a new strategic distribution relationship. Under this agreement, GIS will distribute select ABBYY products and software support services through its established network of resellers within the United States.

GIS operates in approximately 200 locations throughout the United States, selling and servicing document management systems, network integration services, software solutions and audio visual and video conference systems. With the addition of ABBYY's solutions to their product offerings, GIS will be able to more effectively meet the demanding document management and forms automation needs of its small, medium, and enterprise customers.

The distribution agreement with GIS broadens ABBYY's go-to-market strategy and extends the company's footprint within key vertical markets, including education, healthcare, legal, and government.
ABBYY products included in the distribution agreement include:
- FineReader - A highly intelligent OCR (optical character recognition) software program for creating editable and searchable electronic files from scanned paper documents, PDFs and digital photographs.
- PDF Transformer - A multilingual solution for easily converting any type of PDF into editable formats with the original layout and formatting retained.
- Recognition Server - A server-based solution designed for mid- to high-volume document processing across large departments and enterprises.
- FlexiCapture - A data capture and forms processing software that automatically transforms the stream of different documents into usable business data.
