Introducing the ABBYY Innovation Hub: A Showcase of Bold AI Ideas

Matt Netkow

October 10, 2025

Every significant advancement begins with a single idea. At ABBYY, we recognize that our global developer community is a powerful source of innovation. To provide a platform for these concepts, we are pleased to announce the launch of the ABBYY Innovation Hub—a dedicated space to showcase bold ideas and experiments that demonstrate what is possible with intelligent documents and process automation.

The Innovation Hub is designed as a launchpad for inspiration and collaboration. It features short, insightful videos, project summaries, and open-source code that highlight the potential of Document AI, Process AI, Generative AI, and AI agents. Read on to learn more or explore the Innovation Hub now.

What is the Innovation Hub?

The Innovation Hub is more than just a gallery of projects; it is a collaborative ecosystem built for our developer community. It serves several key functions:

  • A showcase for innovation: The Hub features concepts that leverage ABBYY's powerful AI capabilities. These are not polished products but rather experiments that push the boundaries of what can be achieved with our technology.
  • A source of inspiration: By exploring the work of others, developers can discover new techniques, use cases, and approach to solving complex challenges. The projects are designed to spark creativity and encourage new ways of thinking.
  • A platform for collaboration: Every project includes links to its creators and their work, such as GitHub repositories and professional profiles. This facilitates direct connection and collaboration among community members.

To launch the Innovation Hub, we are excited to feature several projects that exemplify the creativity and technical skill of our community.

1. ABBYY DevCon 2025 Hackathon Entries

This year’s DevCon brought together industry leaders, customers, and partners to share powerful insights on how AI and intelligent document processing are reshaping the way organizations work. Our annual hackathon was a huge success, drawing 25+participants across our partner ecosystem and individual contributors, and awarding four winners across various categories. We’re excited to include several hackathon entries in the Innovation Hub, including Proservartner’s KYC Vendor Onboarding Process.

2. Processing Contracts using ABBYY and Agentic AI

This project by Tom Shaw demonstrates an elegant, serverless application for automated contract processing. The system intercepts contracts sent via email, uses ABBYY Document AI to extract the text, and then leverages OpenAI to analyze key terms. The structured data is then organized and stored in Notion, creating a streamlined, end-to-end workflow.

3. Workshop: Creating a Document Processing MCP Server

Developed by our own Developer Relations team, this workshop provides a detailed guide to building a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. The project focuses on advanced workflow automation for intelligent document processing tasks, offering a structured learning experience for developers looking to deepen their expertise.

4. Pharmaceutical Test Validation with ABBYY Vantage and GenAI

From our Pre-Sales Engineering team, this workflow addresses a critical need in the pharmaceutical industry. The solution ingests pharmaceutical testing documents, uses ABBYY Vantage to extract and validate data, and then employs generative AI to cross-reference the results against test methods and specifications for compliance.

Contribute your ideas

The Innovation Hub is built for the community, by the community. We invite you to explore these initial projects and see what your peers are creating. More importantly, we encourage you to contribute your own ideas and experiments.

If you have a project that showcases an interesting use of ABBYY and AI technology—no matter how experimental—we want to see it. This is your opportunity to share your work, inspire others, and help shape the future of intelligent automation.

Visit the ABBYY Innovation Hub today to get inspired. While you're there, submit your own project. We look forward to seeing your innovative ideas!
