Brian Unruh

Brian joined in ABBYY 2023 with more than 20 years of executive management experience across public and private equity-backed software and platform-as-a-service companies. He’s led more than 20 acquisitions, four private equity sell-side processes, and a global organization exceeding 1,100 employees.

Before ABBYY, Brian began his career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) which led him to multiple leadership roles including Chief Financial Officer at PrismHR. Dotster, Chief Executive of web hosting at Endurance International Group, earlier roles en Merant, InFocus, and Tektronix.

Brian speaks to the changing shape of the finance function and is a recurring voice in business media on AI return on investment, capital discipline, and why purpose-built AI outperforms general-purpose models where fiduciary responsibility applies. He holds a B.S. in Accounting with a minor in computer science from Oregon State University.
