ABBYY® Launched TextGrabber + Translator with New “iPad” Face

Starting today, iPad owners can utilize the full potential of broad screen of Apple® tablets and ABBYY TextGrabber + Translator 4.0 for iOS, a handy mobile application to capture, translate and share snippets of text. The updated application runs smoothly on their devices and offers a specifically-designed interface with portrait and landscape orientation to capture documents and view them on the tablet.

The new version of TextGrabber + Translator also provides an advanced integration with Evernote – now you can easily choose among your notebooks and specify any tags you like. Furthermore, the application delivers two simple ways to publish quotations or full text on Facebook, Twitter, etc. – just tap a corresponding button or use the context menu once the abstract you need is selected. The program offers more stylish and enjoyable user interface for iPhone devices as well.

 

ABBYY TextGrabber + Translator is a smart mobile application that carefully extracts snippets of text either from various printed materials with your Apple device’s camera or from images stored in the photo album. Based on ABBYY Mobile OCR Engine, it can accurately recognize texts in more than 60 languages, including Chinese and Korean, without any online connection. Bundled with Google TranslateTM technology, the application provides quick translation of captured texts in as many as 40 different languages.

Availability

ABBYY TextGrabber + Translator 4.0 for iOS is available via the App Store (accessible through iTunes®). It works smoothly with Apple iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S and 5; the iPad 3, 4, iPad Mini, and iPod Touch 5 (iOS 6.0 or later, autofocus required). It is partially compatible with the iPad 2 (uploading images from iPad photo album is only available).
