ABBYY, a leading provider of document recognition, data capture and linguistic technologies, today announced an agreement with Compucenter de Mexico, a leader in the imaging, workflow, and document management industries in Latin America, to distribute its products, including PDF Transformer, FormReader, and the award-winning FineReader OCR and Recognition Server, to resellers servicing the Latin American market.

Located in Mexico City, Compucenter de Mexico has been pioneering the way documents are captured, scanned and stored since 1995. The company of 25 employees is focused on the process of scanning large, medium and low volumes of documents, extracting textual information from them, and then introducing the electronic information into storage devices (Magneto-Optical, CD, DLT, DAT-DDS, microfilm) for use in retrieval systems, document management systems and workflow.

“We are pleased to enlist Compucenter as our primary distribution partner in Latin America,” said Joe Budelli, Vice President of Business Development. “Compucenter has an exceptional reputation in the region, and our partnership with them signals ABBYY’s intent to pursue the growing and important Latin American market fervently.”

“Our value-added professional document capture and data storage solutions offer an optimal match to ABBYY’s intent to expand its presence in Latin America,” said Jorge F. Aguirre R.Z., Technical Director at Compucenter. “We have a strong background of success in launching new technologies in the growing Latin American IT market, and we are certain that the market will welcome and have much need for ABBYY’s document recognition and capture technologies.”
