Information Discovery Innovator Uses ABBYY’s Morphology Engine

ABBYY USA, a member of the ABBYY Group, today announced the signing of a global agreement with Entopia, Inc.™, an innovator in solutions for information discovery. Under the agreement, Entopia will incorporate ABBYY’s Morphology Engine technology, which is composed of advanced linguistic capabilities, into its K-Bus infrastructure.

Entopia will use the morphological engine to stem search terms to their root so that they may be used by the Entopia K-Bus information discovery algorithms for search and retrieval and multi-lingual support within Entopia's information discovery infrastructure.

ABBYY’s Morphology Engine is part of ABBYY Retrieval & Morphology Engine, a software development kit for integrating advanced ABBYY technologies into desktop or client-server applications via COM-style API. The Engine supports 34 natural languages.

The Morphology API of ABBYY Retrieval and Morphology Engine allows developers to integrate functions of morphology analysis (spell checking, lemmatization, and paradigm generation) into various systems that process electronic text information.

“We are pleased to partner with and provide our morphology technology to one of the industry’s most renowned information discovery companies, ” said Joe Budelli, Vice President of Business Development for ABBYY USA. “As a long-standing leader in recognition technology, ABBYY is confident that we will provide Entopia with proven technology that will be an asset to their solutions.”

“We are delighted to use ABBYY’s morphological engine to help enable multi-lingual retrieval to our customers through our K-Bus information discovery infrastructure” said Peter Katz, EVP sales & services.
