The latest advancement in the Android version of ABBYY business card reading (BCR) application is now available in the Google Play store®. The enhancements provide mobile users with a powerful sync feature for captured cards and a completely revamped, sophisticated yet simple, interface.
Synchronization of digital cards between Android and iOS via ABBYY’s cloud storage makes the whole database comprehensive and trouble-free. Enabling a user to enjoy instant and seamless access to a wealth of contact data across their multiple mobile devices of choice, the sync feature ensures greater efficiency in business as well as personal communication.
The updated application has a stylish and intuitive design based on users’ feedback and usability testing. It allows for instinctive interaction with the program when taking snapshots of cards and managing contact data.
“Based on the result of our large-scale usability testing, we have essentially redesigned every current screen interface to make scanning, editing, and viewing of business cards far more convenient and straightforward,” said Artem Kumpel, Director of Lingvo & Mobile Products Department at ABBYY.
Business Card Reader for Android is powered by the award-winning Mobile OCR (Optical Character Recognition) Engine technology by ABBYY. It accurately captures contact information from business cards in as many as 21 languages and saves it automatically either in Contacts, or the CardHolder – internal digital storage of the app.
You can easily use captured contacts to dial phone numbers, write e-mails, find a company address on maps or look for extra details about a person through social networks (LinkedIn®, Facebook®, Twitter®). Additionally, Android and iOS users of ABBYY Business Card Reader are able to swiftly share their digital cards via available Wi-Fi network, as well as SMS and e-mail.
