April McCalmont
April McCalmont is the Vice President of People at ABBYY, where she leads the company's human resources strategy and initiatives.
With over 20 years of experience in human resources, April has a strong focus on business partnering and talent management. She brings a wealth of expertise in talent acquisition, employee engagement, and organizational development, with a proven track record of driving HR transformations and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Most recently, April served as VP of HR and Talent Management at Austin-based Netspend. She previously led HR technology business partner teams at Indeed and Endurance International Group. Her expertise in strategic planning and change management has been instrumental in aligning HR practices with business goals.
April holds a degree in Human Resources Management and is an active member of several professional HR associations. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Darek, and their 11-year-old Goldendoodle, Bunker. You’ll often find her golfing at UT Golf Club, enjoying Austin FC games, skiing, traveling, or exploring Austin’s culinary scene. Originally from Portland, OR, April has also called Boston, MA, home and now resides in Austin, TX.
