ABBYY Enters New Distributor Relationship to Bring FineReader to Japan

New Distributor Agreement Delivers FineReader to Technology Manufacturer Customer


ABBYY®, a leading provider of document recognition, document capture, linguistic technologies and professional services, today announced a new distributor agreement in Japan, bringing ABBYY® FineReader® to the Japanese organization, AdD. Specifically targeted at providing a highly functional, multi-lingual optical character recognition (OCR) solution to technology manufacturers in Japan, the new distributor agreement with AdD will broaden ABBYY’s exposure within the country.

Under their new agreement, Kyoto City-based AdD, a software solution provider specializing in delivering system development and software, will deliver FineReader to technology manufacturers to streamline translation and archiving processes. The distributor will bring to market a Japanese-specific version of FineReader, which includes a user interface and supporting documentation in Japanese.


FineReader is a highly intelligent OCR software for text recognition, which allows users to create editable and searchable electronic files from scanned paper documents, PDFs and digital photographs. Able to recognize 186 languages, FineReader delivers unsurpassed recognition accuracy, while also maintaining the document’s original formatting, including columns, headers and footers, tables and more.
