ABBYY® FlexiCapture Goes Mobile
Fast and Reliable Document Capture Is Now Available Using iOS Devices
ABBYY®, a leading provider of document recognition, data capture and linguistic technologies, today announced the availability of ABBYY FlexiCapture for iOS – a brand new mobile client for the powerful data and document capture solution ABBYY FlexiCapture . The new client application enables businesses to trigger processing of business-critical information by simply using mobile devices, and quickly transfers the captured data into corporate databases.
With FlexiCapture for iOS, it is now easy to take photos of various types of documents such as invoices, questionnaires, contracts, bills of landing, IDs, applications forms, etc., improve their visual quality and send them via the Internet to ABBYY FlexiCapture integrated into the office infrastructure. Once there, the data are automatically identified according to the pre-defined settings and passed to the company’s back-end system such as ECM, ERP or BPM. Images received from mobile devices are processed the same way as images coming to ABBYY FlexiCapture from other sources including e-mails, office scanners, FTP server and so on – supporting multi-channel document input.
Based on ABBYY Mobile Imaging SDK, the FlexiCapture client allows users to leverage its image processing technologies to produce sharp, high-contrast images in color and black-and-white versions as if they were captured using an office scanner. It automatically switches into multi-page photo mode if a photographed document contains more than one page and crops unnecessary background areas to reduce the file size and traffic to ABBYY FlexiCapture server.

Serving as an alternate entry point to an enterprise document capture and processing system, it helps corporate users and organizations benefit from quick delivery of and instant access to useful data extracted miles away from their home office or headquarters.
Availability and Licensing
ABBYY FlexiCapture for iOS is available from the Apple App Store®. It is compatible with iPhone 4, 4S and 5, as well as with iPod Touch 5 Gen (iOS 6.0 and later). The iPad 3, 4, and Mini are supported in compatibility mode.
Interface languages include English and Russian.
Processing of the images captured with the mobile client is regulated in the ABBYY FlexiCapture license. Details about pricing and possible license options can be obtained from regional ABBYY offices and partners.
