Leader in Data Recognition and Capture to Showcase Optical Character Recognition and Document Conversion Solutions for the Classroom
ABBYY, a leading provider of recognition, data capture and linguistic technologies, today announced that it will exhibit at the 29th annual National Educational Computing Conference (NECC). The conference brings together an array of people from the educational industry, including teachers, students, policy makers, chief technology officers and library media specialists, to view the most recent advances in the educational technology industry.
ABBYY will exhibit FineReader 9.0, an easy-to-use optical character recognition (OCR) and document conversion application which delivers precision accuracy in converting almost any type of document including text books, lecture notes, exams, magazine articles, tables and spreadsheets, providing an affordable and time-saving alternative to manual retyping. FineReader 9.0 readily transforms educational documents into fully editable and searchable electronic files for educators and students alike, and recognizes 184 languages including newly-added support for Chinese (both traditional and simplified), Japanese, Thai and Hebrew languages.
At the event, ABBYY will also demonstrate the educational applications of its FineReader Engine 8.1 Software Development Kit, Recognition Server 2.0 and FlexiCapture 8.0 products. The FineReader Engine 8.1 Software Development Kit includes all the technologies needed for developing state-of-the-art data capture, document conversion, archiving and content/document management systems. ABBYY recently addressed developers working on the Mac platform with the FineReader Engine 8.0 for Mac, enabling extremely accurate OCR technology. Recognition Server 2.0, a server-based OCR application supporting 191 languages, accurately and automatically converts large volumes of paper documents or document images into fully searchable electronic text. FlexiCapture 8.0, designed to meet organizational and departmental paper-processing needs for the education sector, intelligently automates data extraction from any type of paper form or document including exam tests, admission forms and applications, without the need for manual pre-sorting or manual keying.
