NSi Selects ABBYY’s® Forms Processing Solution in Its “Powered By AutoStore” Products
Suite of Products Includes Popular HP AutoStore
ABBYY, a leader in document recognition and linguistic technologies, and Notable Solutions, Inc.(NSi), a recognized leader in content capture solutions, today announced a strategic, worldwide technology licensing agreement. Under this agreement, NSi will provide an integrated forms processing solution through the use of ABBYY’s FormReader® technology for its flagship document and content capture framework engine, AutoStore®. This integration enables all “Powered By AutoStore”™ products including HP AutoStore and OneStep® to use a customized version of ABBYY’s FormReader Enterprise Edition. For the past four years, NSi has relied on ABBYY’s multi-award-winning FineReader® OCR Engine for its AutoStore product licensed exclusively to HP and sold under the product name “HP AutoStore” through HP’s standard distribution channels. In response to customer and partner demands for scalable, cost-effective and easy-to-use forms processing features, NSi recently added a customized version of ABBYY’s FormReader Enterprise Edition as an integrated forms processing module in AutoStore.

Products “Powered By AutoStore” are multi-threaded server-based capture workflow applications designed to: capture documents from multiple sources (such as digital copiers and MFPs), process them using OCR and ICR, and route them to existing document , content and database management systems such as Microsoft SharePoint™ Portal Server, Documentum™, and FileNet™. Products currently “Powered By AutoStore” include HP AutoStore which is part of HP’s digital sending offering and NSi’s OneStep.
Highlights of the special edition of ABBYY FormReader Enterprise for AutoStore include:
- Integration at the API level to provide the most secure and flexible handover of documents from MFPs and digital copiers into ABBYY’s FormReader engine. Documents are routed directly from the MFPs and digital copiers into a server-based ABBYY FormReader process. Upon recognition, the processed forms and associated data is handed back into the AutoStore capture workflow using standard XML formats.
- Based on ABBYY’s FormReader technology, AutoStore maps extracted fields directly into destination fields of over two dozen document and database management systems.
- Documents with low recognition confidence levels can be automatically routed to ABBYY’s indexing and validation station for user indexing and proof reading.
