In many personal identification documents, personal information is encoded in Machine Readable Zones as specified by ICAO in Doc 9303. ABBYY’s ready-to-use technology allows automatically extracting field data from Machine Readable Zones in ID documents and verification of the relevant check digits. The results can be exported as XML or JSON format. This feature adds significant value to systems for fast capture and verification of personal data – for example during customer onboarding or verification processes.
Note: This feature is available in ABBYY FineReader Engine for Windows and ABBYY FineReader Engine for Linux. It is currently not supported in ABBYY FineReader Engine for Mac.
Business cards are specific documents, often photographed or scanned as several images on one page. Ready-to-use Business card recognition technology is integrated in FineReader Engine and can be directly used for recognition of business cards. The API provides a full set of features for business cards processing: from special pre-processing features to the API that provides access to the extracted data.
Recognized data can be saved in vCard format, which is often used to pass business card by e-mail or networks.
